Hyperex Machina has been busy blending his interests in classic electronic music and layered synth composition. "Mechanisms 2" is a follow up to last year's "Mechanisms" (also on ENDE Records) and sees him turn in an album of four pieces, all recorded in one take with no overdubs or extra tracking and all produced solely on his modular rigs.
It seems everyone is delving into modular production these days but Hyperex Machina hasn't tried to make the next IDM flavoured Bandcamp hit. Instead just relaxing, letting each sequence breathe and channeling the original masters of the modular genres. Not strictly ambient or even beatless. For those with an interest in the classic modular exploration, such as making only slight changes to see where the composition takes you...look no further.
thick, syrupy resonance and sequences you can drive to alongside classic sci-fi sound squelching, saw wave rumbling and randomised tones.
